About Julie Irwin - Executive Chairman, A-DB Group

Julie Irwin is Executive Chairman of A-DB Group.  A-DB Group of Companies provides application development and database administration solutions that enable our clients to achieve a competitive advantage in their markets. A-DB Group was created by the merger of AcknowledgeDB and Igatech Corporation in 2006.

Julie holds a bachelor degree in applied science with majors in computing, accounting and business studies from UniSA. She has been an active member of ACS since 1983 and was recently recognized for 25 years membership and service.

Julie has extensive experience in the ICT industry, with a strong technical background in database administration.  Since 1997, she has established and managed high growth ICT businesses and was the sole founder of AcknowledgeDB.

A-DB Group is a member of the Australian Information Industry Association and Julie was a member of the Queensland committed of AIIA from 2005-2007.  During 2006, Julie completed the inaugural AIIA Entrepreneurs Program at Macquarie University, a 12 month program which provides a focused and condensed MBA program specific to the ICT industry.  Since completing this program, she has successfully quadrupled the revenue base of her business.

Julie has developed a keen interest in China and has visited the country a number of times, most notably, taking part in Brisbane’s Lord Mayor Campbell Newman’s trade mission to China in 2005 and visiting again in 2007 to attend the Oracle OpenWorld Asia Pacific Conference.

Apart from A-DB Group, Julie’s other business ventures include property development and she owns and operates Adelaide Beaches Holiday Villas, a group of three luxury villas on the shores of Adelaide’s West Beach.

Defence Industry

Through Igatech, A-DB Group is a member of the Defence Industrial Security Program, holding a Personnel Facility Clearance. It is a member of the Defence Teaming Centre, and an Australian Government Endorsed Supplier. Igatech is also well known in SA Defence circles for its depth of talent in the maintenance of HF radar software since 1998. Igatech is a member of the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) Rapid Prototyping Development and Evaluation (RPDE) panel, and the DMO-SS panel of service providers for HF radar engineering services.
